Restful is a collection of essays, interviews and photography projects exploring how Nigerians are navigating stress and cultivating respite. The design of the book needed to reflect these themes of rest and healing.

Considering that ‘rest’ was an integral theme of the book, we wanted to reflect this through intentional white spaces and ‘pauses’. Typography and images were strategically placed following a grid system that allowed for larger margins. The cover contains illustrations of various emotions (illustrations by Amina Gimba) which subtly give the reader an idea of what’s to come. 

A book that intentionally allows its readers to take in each piece and pause in between, a book that gives its readers a chance to rest and reflect simultaneously.
